Ultrasonic Cleaning

Ultrasonic cleaning is the best way to clean Carburettors, Cylinder heads, Turbo chargers, fuel injectors, Brake callipers and other delicate mechanical items. It reaches all the hidden areas of components that traditional manual cleaning cannot reach. This process improves both the appearance and function of these components. The Ultrasonic Cleaning process while cleaning the internal and external surfaces removes fuel and other stubborn deposits like carbon build-up from pistons and cylinder heads and other items with difficult to reach pathways.  

How does it work? High frequency sound waves cause the imploding bubbles in the water rapidly create high temperatures and pressures in a tiny space. When the implosions come into contact with the submerged item, the cavitation bubbles act like microscopic scrubbing brushes all over the cleaning tank, removing dirt without necessarily requiring chemicals. The action is miniscule so that it provides a highly effective but gentle clean, avoiding the damage that can be caused when scrubbing items by hand. The Ultrasonic cleaning process will not remove rust or staining, this can be achieved with vapour blasting. Ultrasonic cleaning will leave the original patina which may be preferable for some projects/components. Both processes can be combined to great effect!

 Before you send your parts.....

• Parts will need to be, dismantled and all internal components removed i.e. bearings, seals, valves, jets etc. Note: I can fit a bank of four carbs in whole so if you just wish a clean for the whole bank no striping is required.
• We request the items have been cleaned and degreased to a reasonable level.
• If you require us to degrease your items we are happy to do so at an additional cost

 Once we receive your parts.....

• All parts are inspected & photographed with any unforeseen issues highlighted before I proceed.
• Components are thoroughly washed in our heated solvent free  bioremediation parts washer which will remove oils and any stubborn build up of contaminants.
• Components are placed in the ultrasonic cleaner - this process submerges the items in a heated mild detergent whilst subjecting them to the ultrasonic action which creates microscopic bubbles that implode upon themselves creating a non-abrasive cleaning action infiltrating all difficult to reach areas effectively.
• After ultrasonic cleaning ferrous components (steel, Iron etc.)  can be susceptible to flash rusting. Our final rinse process includes a rust inhibitor which helps to minimise or delay the effect. I can also coat with a light oil at your request. I then once more blow through with compressed air and dry with warm blown air.​
• Your components are once again photographed and the pictures sent attached to your invoice. Once paid they will be securely packaged ready for collection or post.

After Vapour Blasting we thoroughly clean and inspect your components to ensure all residual media is removed. However, we cannot guarantee that there will not be any media residue left. It is the responsibility of the customer to check over their components before reassembling. 

When we remove the dirt & corrosion from your parts it may reveal pre-existing defects such as stress fractures or cracks - If defects are discovered we will inform you immediately and we cannot accept responsibility for pre-existing damage.
