Bing Carburettor Rebuild Service

This service will leave your carburettors not only looking like new but ultrasonically cleaned and completely refreshed with all new seals, gaskets & diaphragm. Worn O-rings, gaskets and diaphragm can lead to poor running, difficult starting and erratic idle.

We hold all these parts for 32 & 40mm Bing Carburettors in stock so can commence work upon receipt.

• Carbs are cleaned in the hot, solvent free bioremediation washer
• Then fully Striped, including the butterfly valve & shaft,  and inspected (we will advise if additional parts are required before proceeding)
• All of the carburettor parts are vapour blasted
• The carburettor is rinsed and blown through with compressed air to remove any residual media. 
• All parts are processed through the ultrasonic cleaner
• All parts are given a final rinse, blown through with compressed air and warm air dried
• We will ensure the idle mixture screw is returned its factory setting.
• We will also check the float weight & height and that the needle valve seals correctly holding pressure
• The carburettor is then rebuilt with the following quality parts (My parts are obtained from a BMW parts specialist (Motorworks BMW) - NOT cheap equivalents - We use these parts on our own BMW Airheads) 
• Float bowl & enricher gasket (choke)
• All O-rings (Choke, butterfly shaft, main jet, idle jet, mixture screw)
• Diaphragm
• Stainless steel screws are replaced for the carb top, enricher assembly, butterfly shaft/valve, slide assembly and vacuum blanking port. Nuts & washers are also all replaced with new stainless steel items. 
• The carbs are then packaged securely ready for dispatch - P&P charges apply

This is ideal for bikes which have covered more than 30K without the carburettors being rebuilt, have a leaky carburettor or have stood unused for some time.

As the needle moves around inside the needle jet it is susceptible to wear. It is quite difficult to assess the condition of the needle & jet by eye so it's wise to replace if the mileage is over 30K or has an unknown history. Worn needle & needle jet could affect throttle response, performance & fuel economy. 

The rubber tip on the needle valve can harden with age or is left standing for some time without use. A common sign is an intermittent/constant leak.

We also check the height & weight of the float and that the float needle seals with the float needle seat correctly holding pressure. 

The process is the same as the standard rebuild and includes the following  quality parts (Our parts are obtained from a BMW parts specialist - NOT cheap equivalents - We use these parts on our own BMW Airhead)
